What Can Be Attractive For a Bed Bug in Your Home?

There is a common misconception that bed bugs love dirty places. People think that cheap hotels, where they don’t care about cleanliness, are hosting these kinds of insects. Filth can be attractive for some types but a bed bug easily survives in any condition. All it needs is the blood of any living thing.

Apart from the other blood eating insects, like mosquitos, bed bugs have no ability to fly. Sometimes wings can be helpful to continue to stay alive. When a person sees a pest, he or she gets rid of it. Whether by killing or not. Bed bugs can hide them but it is not easy to escape from any threat. Therefore, they wait for the falling asleep of their nutrition source. Quite wise creatures… Besides, their easy adaptive nature allows them to find a place to hide, live, etc. Maybe a sofa, woolen carpet, drawer. The moment bed bugs find a regular food source, the moment they settle.

There should be various signs that your home is infested by bed bugs, let’s check the common 3 one:

  1. Bed bugs carve holes to the closest way of source. Gaze at your bedrooms, mattress, pillows carefully.
  2. If there is any itching in your skin when you wake up, it can be another signal. How frequent is it? As we discussed, bed bugs have an easy adaptive nature both in summer times and the winter, they can visit you. Again gaze at your pillow, duvet if there is any tiny blood spot.
  3. A foul odor in your room, especially around your bed. Some people say: it reminds them of “locker room smell.”

From here, everything is OK. You find their source. You realize their sign. And now, take a step to get rid of them.

The very beginning of the process is identifying the infested areas. Female bed bugs can multiply very quickly, it’s essential to find them before they start to reproduce. They generally chose the areas:

  • Bed frame and headboard
  • The seams of your mattress
  • Along the seam of your carpets, where the carpet meets the wall edges
  • In the edge the joints of furniture like couches, accent chairs, and futons
  • And he connections between the cushions of your sofa

Then continue with vacuuming these areas. After you finish, put the contents of your vacuum canister in a plastic bag and throw it away. Do not leave your sweeper without cleaning inside of it. And also bring the plastic bag garbage.

The final is killing them. How can you do it yourself in natural ways? Their adopting nature is not strong enough to heat like boiling water. Clean your bedroom, bed, duvet and pillows, even your dresses with a steam heater for at least 30 minutes.
